What do you mean when you say that the number 14 is the numerical name for David?

Hi William! Great question! In Hebrew Gematria, “David,” which in Hebrew letters is spelled dalet(4)-vav(6)-dalet(4), comes out to 14!

Despite not skipping over them, I still never thought of genealogies in this manner. Gaining a deeper understanding of the significance and purpose makes it evident that their importance can't be overstated. Thank you for shedding yours and the Bible’s light on any and all who read this.
